Opie
OK couldn't wait til Monday....spent the last 6 hours installing it myself in the Opie Garage. It looks awesome, I'll take pics tomorrow because I'm too tired now. This is definitly not a project for those without alot of garage time or those with only a basic set of tools. It's also a very tedious, time consuming install, but well worth it in the end.

emorphien
Hmm not only are they too rich for my blood but I'd probably be too dumb to install them without any help.
Brady
Opie ... quick question. The gauges just replace the cubby, or is there a separate panel issued with the vents also?

Couldn't be that difficult. If it were about 200 less, I'd seriously think about them.

But yes the biggest factor is the cost. WHY IS IT SO MUCH $$$!>?
Guest *Jedimaster*
'Cuz it's custom made for our cars and they're the only ones who make them.

Have you priced out 3 defi BF gauges and a control unit? This thing is a steal at the price its offered at. Of course, the three gauges are smaller then the BF gauges, but still... the form factor is awesome.
emorphien
I might pay $200 for the set. If that gives you an idea of how much I personally value such an item at.
Brady
I like the boost gauge, I just wish they had other options for the gauges. I'd be more interested in also having A/F and EGT. Not that I necessarily plan on modding up enough to need that ... but I might.

Hmmm, what about this? http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm It should fit in the cubby an retain the use of the door. I has peak but no warning functions unless you connect it to a PDA. Opie
Opie ... quick question. The gauges just replace the cubby, or is there a separate panel issued with the vents also? There is a seperate bezel panel that also comes with the set. It is currently not sold seperately. Couldn't be that difficult. If it were about 200 less, I'd seriously think about them. The most difficult part (for me anyway) was fishing the wires through the dash. There is so much sound deadening, insulation and other bits and pieces behind the dash that it is an excercise in blind faith...that and the harnesses are "just" long enought to reach the cubby spot...so one wrong turn and your screwed! You can get a "generic" version straight from Defi for about $200 less...but then you still need the bezel and the sensors, and the oil filter sensor adapter plate. http://www.speedaction.net/dedisetwhrha.html And I'm sure if you have a "good" dealer nearby you could get it for a bit less than the $775.00 suggested price... I like the boost gauge, I just wish they had other options for the gauges. I'd be more interested in also having A/F and EGT. Not that I necessarily plan on modding up enough to need that ... but I might. I wonder how long it will be until an EcuTek monitor is available for the LGT...is all they would need is the bezel.... jim1969
unfortunately, the EcuTeK and psi3 monitor still cannot accept an external EGT probe. So once you replace the up-pipe you can't read EGT. I can't see spending that much for the monitor and still need a separate EGT gauge.
Brady
So, then if the bezel is replaced ... would that be just like the Impreza gauge pack ... I.E. an OEM Cubby Din pocket? If so ... Interesting. Or is this just identical to the AVO cubby din pocket?

Leonardo
Will, any chance you can get the rear 2pot calipers testfitted?
Opie
Will, any chance you can get the rear 2pot calipers testfitted? Already tried, they don't fit...would need a different backing plate and the 2006 WRX backing plate won't work.
TSiWRX
heh ... that is kind of cool. not a quick/easy read while driving, but cool. Good point - which is my general "thing" with ancillary gauges. Do these units come with some kind of a warning light integrated? <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
