um subaru gages would only have a 90 day warrenty

greddy for example are 1 year

All Subaru accessories including the Subaru Gauges have a standard 12 month parts warranty if purchased and installed after the car is sold. If you have the accessories added before you actually take delivery of the car (say in your new car deal), they are covered by the bumper to bumper warranty for 3yrs/36,000 miles.

This warranty is made by Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA)*, Subaru Plaza, PO Box 6000, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034-6000.

This warranty only applies to Genuine Subaru Replacement Parts and Accessories purchased for use on an applicable Subaru vehicle from an Authorized Subaru Dealer located in the United States. Every owner of the vehicle during the warranty period shall be entitled to the benefits of this warranty. If the vehicle is sold or otherwise transferred during the warranty period for the part or accessory, it is recommended that the new owner be given proof of purchase documents for the part or accessory.

This warranty begins on the day a Genuine Subaru Replacement Part or Accessory is purchased by a retail customer. The warranty is 1 year, regardless of mileage (except for wear item parts), or for the period of coverage remaining for the particular part under other Subaru Limited Warranties, whichever is longer.

This warranty covers any repairs needed to correct defects in material or workmanship, which occur under normal use, in any Genuine Subaru Replacement Part or Accessory purchased after retail sale of the Subaru vehicle in which the part or accessory was installed. Genuine Subaru Replacement Part or Accessories installed in the vehicle prior to retail sale of that vehicle are covered under the terms of the Subaru New Car Limited Warranties.

i dont get where this goes? what exactly does it do? does it go between the bumper & the license plate?

Yes, mount bracket to front bumper, then front plate to bracket.

Looks like it will:

1.) Provide support for front plate to prevent it from getting bent.

2.) Hold plate more securely with four bolts vs current two.

3.) Raise the plate position up somewhere between 1" and 1 1/2" to reduce blockage of air through the bottom slot of bumper without decreasing flow into grill, as the top of your plate will still be below bottom of grill opening.

The real question about the plate holder is will it be any more securely attached to the bumper itself?

Still just 2 bolts into the bumper. If they molded the back side to fit the curve of the bumper then it would snug up more securely to it.

I'm using a heavy stainless steel frame on the front plate right now and it keeps it nice and rigid.

I'm interested in the ash tray not because I smoke but to store my change. Right now I use a zipper lock back and store it in one of the two drink holders. I'm going to have to check it out.

I bought one of these last year for my front plate.

http://www.autobarn.net/cru79150.html

I'm assuming the Subie one doesn't require drilling holes in the bumper. The dealer asked if I wanted a front plate on it and since it is required in NY I said ya. They just drilled a couple of holes in my front bumper and now that I decided to be a rebel i have two protruding holes in my bumper.

Oh well, it matches the rest of the chips and blemishes on the bumper.

I'm in NYS too. My car came with the front plate holes already drilled in my front bumper. They are standard spaced holes, so the plate that I bought from Auto Barn screwed right in to the bumper.

Way to go Opie! The price obviously is scaring me off... but it looks so much cleaner than anything else I've seen. I wonder if they do the little "dance" when the car starts up? As stupid as it sounds I think that would be sweet. Pleeeease post some pics of the install and final product!
