bdcvg
Anybody ever tried painting the filter box and the intake snorkel with white plasti-dip to reduce heat soak? It will look bad but it does get very hot to the touch in there.
WahooNo2
I wouldn't think it would help that much except for having a white painted intake part. As a quick, cheap, and best case scenario test, you could wrap your snorkle with aluminum foil and log the IAT with an accessport to see if it changes anything. The foil should reflect infrared heat back and make it slightly cooler. Also quick google search says plasti dip is good to 200 degrees.... which may be exceeded by underhood temps. bdcvg
Foil heat shield is probably a better idea, after the car sits in a parking lot for a few mins the IAT goes up to well over 110 deg. Driving the car the temp goes down some but never as low as the OAT. It's probably only a 10 to 15 deg. difference but I thought I'd throw the concept out.
