xt2005bonbon
There should be two wires on the fan connector. The black one should be the ground (goes on the negative terminal of the battery) and the other positive. Just need to figure out a way to hook these two wires to the battery. 05LegacyGTGa
Just did it. Fan works! I think I see the culprit. The plug on the harness side is burnt on one terminal. It looks like that part of the plug can be replaced. But why did it do that??? xt2005bonbon
Probably had a poor connection there (some play), which in turn created some sparks and then some melting. Maybe it is still usable if you do a good cleaning and make sure the connection becomes snug? Good job btw.
05LegacyGTGa
I just hope its nothing serious! Should I be able to buy just that piece if I need to?
xt2005bonbon
I don't think it is anything serious. I think you could. Check junkyards around you too.
05LegacyGTGa
Called the local Subaru Dealer and can't get just the plug. Went to a junkyard and they had an 02 Legacy Sedan and an 01 Forester. Both had e-fan plugs, but they look different. I got one if there's a possibility I can splice this one on. Would that work? Or bad idea? IMG_20170802_165938954 by kornfan891, on Flickr
xt2005bonbon
Just cut the bad plug wires, solder the new to you plug wires, use some wire heat shrink wrapping and whatever else to protect the wires from the elements, and done.
05LegacyGTGa
It's alive! I did my best to make it look like nothing was ever touched, ha. I don't think it looks too bad!
