Dealer asked $6900 to fix it with rebuilt engine. I just can't pay more than car worth. What are my options? I just really lost. Thank you for any suggestions. Max Capacity Posted July 19, 2017 Share Posted July 19, 2017 Any local repair shop can do the job cheaper. I gather this is a 2.5i ? I know a great shop but not sure you will use him. He's in Somersville CT. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
