MilesA
Sounds like a great build. Do you think the knocking sound was due to the wrong size pistons, or something else? How about the P0011 and P0021 DTCs? What did they find when the engine was torn down?
Nabsolute
They found an engine that was rebuilt twice already. 100% piston slap from wrong piston size. Crap STI clutch but was able to salvage and re surface the fly wheel. A marginal TGV delete. But the manifolds were re surfaced professionally by SoCal porting. Turbo looked good, but upgraded because, well with the build might as well go big and do it right or go home. Using motule mineral oil for first 100 miles. Then shit oil for 500, 1000, then start using the good stuff at 2000. Not going to go synthetic as I'm planning every 3000 on the spot.
