How do we remove 08 Legacy Windshield?

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

Another member and I are wondering how to remove a windshield. Just realized it doesn't have the normal rubber seal like other cars. After hours of searching with no results, can anyone please help with steps or at least point us in the right direction? Thank you.

That may help.

I have learned to let my buddies body shop do it. After having the windshield replaced a couple of times by a replacement company and then figuring out why the roof was rusting...Just leave it to the people who know what they are doing.

I agree. We just want to remove it and I'll have a shop install. Thanks for the file. I have never come across that.

Your welcome, I'm really more worried you cracking the windshield and then having to get a new one any way.

When talking with the body shop, he mentioned that they will sometimes have a specialist come in to remove and install them, some are that tricky.

As I learned they tech has to be careful of nicking the paint.

While I'm on it, if you find a great body shop, you have a great place to ask about other repair shops they recommend. My buddies shop is mainly a restoration shop, they do body work to pay the bills. They are doing well enough, they have moved the serious resto projects off site. They also do work for a few of the higher car dealers and one of the local out door building companies. It's not uncommon to see cupola's from Kloter Farms and local shed retailer there. Not to mention the antique Coke machine and washer and dryer that someone want painted.

Hmm, now I'm worried. The issue is, the donor car(DOA) is in PA and my car in NJ. So, it's either removal and transport or mobile glass service. Which I'm not sure if they come out just to remove a windshield that's not even theirs.

A glass company should be able to handle the swap out or at least remove it and ship it to you...

What will that cost compared to finding one locally. Didn't notice where which town your from.

There used to be a member here in Maryland that owned a Glass shop.
