Bmw E90

Recommended Posts

Has anyone driven the all wheel drive versions of these cars. How do they compare to the Legacy? I heard that the ride is a bit stiff. Power delivery?

I know... the price for a loaded 330ix is about twice that of a Legacy GT and they are probably smaller inside. And you can't get a wagon version.

But, question remains - are they any good?

Or are the public just sheep?

Mebbe they would buy more LGTs if Subaru raised the base price to $35K, put some real wood and HIDs on the cars...

To be honest, unsure where u have gotton yr information from.

E90 = RWD ONLY.

Being a MOD at M3Forum.com, I can tell you that the results on this version are very much mixed and the Jury is still out. Still awaiting the pictures of the REAL E90M but it will come soon enough.

Test drive this car and you will quickly notice it is a refined piece of BMW Technology. The ride, handling and braking is 2nd to none for the 3 Series. Yes the E90 330 might be pricey to say the least but it is the top of the range 3 Series. Im sure if they loaded up the GT in the same way, the GT would be in and around the same price range... seriously.

If I could buy a 330i here in Australia for the same amount you can get them for in the US, I would be able to have that and a GT, and thats for real.

If you want to find out more, go to M3Forum.com or see yr local BMW Dealership for a test drive, you wont be disappointed.

FWIW, I have driven the 545is with 6sp back to back with a 540ia. No contest...the new 5 series chassis is much improved. BMW has too much riding on the baby Bimmer to hose it up, so I'd assume the improvements carried over to the little guy. I have yet to drive one....no desire really....it's too refined with nothing exciting to write home about.

Seems like an AWD car to me... anyway, I don't want to waste a dealership's time since I wouldn't buy one for lack of funds. But if anyone has any real world experience, as I said (don't see any info here...) I'd be interested in hearing about it.

My dealership has two in freight right now I will let you know how they drive when they arrive. If the AWD 5 series cars are any indication (which they should be), the 330xi will drive almost exactly like a 330i, which is very very well. Nice smooth flexible power delivery, very good dynamics, and awesome brakes. Man I wish I could get those brakes on the Legacy.

Yah the X-Drive system on the E90 and E60 provide it to drive nearly seemlessly as a RWD car until the grip slips. Then power starts to get to individual wheels, the system is very advanced and well put together.
