thatgarrett
Hey I have been having an intermittent ABS light and would like to read the code but cannot seem to find the port. I have heard it is living somewhere under the dash on the drivers side but can't for the life of me find it. Everywhere else online just has the general picture from the service manual that isn't any use. Has anyone been able to successfully locate this on this generation legacy? Setnev
I know on my 99 and on the 98-02 Forester, it's taped up under the steering column. It's a connector that has two diagnostic leads that you can connect to either read the codes or clear the codes, depending on what leads they're plugged into. thatgarrett
Finally found it! It is an 8 pin connector (looks just like the 6 pin with two additional pins on the left side) and is white. It's right next to the screw that holds in the lower dash and you don't need to remove anything to get to it (as I found out 30 minutes later). Now to clean my ABS sensor...
