I sent my nephew at 16 to a BMW driver training and safety course. They sat every kid in the seat of an 18 wheeler and showed them how huge their blind spots are. Besides have a Honda Fit that oversteered on the wet skid pad which was great fun (and surprised his instructor), he said that was the best lesson he got out of the program.

Not normally a fan of Snopes, but it seems there's more to the story... which is pretty clear from the pic.

Truck was crushed between two semis in a chain reaction collision, caused by another semi. Fatality x2... also pretty clear from the pic.

Edit... video from a rubbernecker:

That's crazy - I can never figure out what folks expect. Youtube is full of videos where folks cut off tractor trailers then brake check them... it never ends well. Looking at this pic, I am guessing that's pretty close to a zero percent survival probability sort of accident... hard way to learn that lesson.

watching the vid that was a pretty frightening accident. I am guessing no one cut anyone off, but they had to be driving pretty close to one another to get into that mess...

It always amazes me how many folks are content to roll along next to a semi. I don't like being anywhere near them.

I agree. I always pass them as quickly as possible and never hang out next to them, even 2 lanes over.

And how many that intentionally place themselves in the dead angle to make sure you don't see them when you change lane.
