8kmanam8
I am relatively new to subies, and I just have a quick question. Would a Subaru SPT cold air intake be comparable with my 2001 Subaru Legacy GT wagon? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Max Capacity
IMO, you don't need a CAI, if I recall right like the 4th Gen's, yours already draws in air from outside the engine bay. Don't waste your money. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. scoobydrvr
Welcome to the Suby world. As Max Capacity said, your air box already draws air from inside the fender, not the engine bay. Additionally, the stock boxes do a good job of flowing air and you won't really need anything aftermarket unless you are making big power. Save your money or put it towards a better mod unless you just really want the whooshing sound.
Brian3
Ok good to know, how bout exhaust though, will kits for NA2.5s or GTs fit?
Brian3
And not trying to make big power but would like to get it close to 300, 280 be good
scoobydrvr
I don't know if later kits will fit on that car or not but if I had to guess I'd say they wouldn't bolt right up. You can build a cat back exhaust fairly cheap at a muffler shop though. I've got a pair of Magnaflow mufflers with ~500 miles on them I'd sell you for less than half what I paid.
