Thanks much for the link. The table of contents of that manual is essentially the same as the US Subaru manual (see here) except that the sections RDS TMC, Remote Control and Voice Activate are missing from the US Subaru manual. Those are all optional extras on the KNA DV3200.

From p. 56 of the Kenwood manual:

If the KNA-VC300 Microphone & Talk switch is connected, it will be possible to control the Navigation System through voice recognition. (The KNA-VC300 Microphone & Talk Switch is an optional extra.)
I wonder whether the Voice Activate function is built into the Subaru unit and simply waiting for the KNA-VC300 to be connected. That would be cool.

Edit: The KNA-VC300 only costs $79 from the Kenwood USA online store (see http://store.kenwoodusa.com/product.asp?sku=2598265).

Edit: The installation manual for the KNA-DV3200 is at http://kenwood.nl.nt.ims.hr/languages/NL/support/manuals/KNA-DV3200%20Instal.man.(EN,FR,GE,DU,IT,SP).pdf. It has illustrations which show the connections and the relative locations of the connectors on the unit.

Or just get a Garmin on E-Bay for arround 800. for a great one!
I'd like to see a Garmin direct you from Jersey to a Manhattan address. After complete GPS blackout in the Lincoln tunnel, you're dumped into a near blackout created by the buildings in Manhattan. The Subaru NAV system has a gyro and vehicle speed based dead reckoning system that it can fall back to when GPS reception sucks.

I agree. I was unable to connect the speed sensor to my AVIC-N2, which makes the dead reckoning features nearly inoperable. Every time I drive into Pittsburgh, I pass through the Fort Pitt tunnels and by the time I reach downtown my navigation screen is telling me that I've completely passed the city, all while driving over a river and facing north! The navigation just goes nuts!

Hopefully it will handle this situation better once it finishes its "learning" process. The learning status of unit is only at about 60% completion after driving 500 miles with it.

From what I hear, the AVIC-N2's dead reckoning is extremely accurate when the speed sensor is connected, allowing you to drive up to a month without a GPS signal and the unit will maintain good positioning accuracy.

Somebody needs to come up with a good speed signal solution for the Legacy! I want my dead reckoning to work.
