SarahBeth
The turbo on this car blew at 50k and again at 100k. It now has 174k and we got it really cheaply because the guy thought the engine was blown again but it wasn't so we had fixed it all up and it was running perfectly with no codes of any kind until we took apart the turbo to change the filter on the banjo bolt, only to get it all apart and discover that the factory removed the filter entirely on the last rebuild. We got it back together but had neglected to hook up a sensor of some kind and then got this p2007 code and alot less power. We looked it and saw that is a code for "Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed Bank 2" but can't figure out how to get it 'unstuck'. We were wondering if anyone has any idea on what we might have done to trigger this code and/or if there are any ways to troubleshoot it that anyone knows of? Thank you in advance for any input! MilesA
There are tumble generator valves (TGVs) on each intake manifold runner. There is a motor that opens and closes a flap. There is also a sensor that determines the flap position. Most likely you have disconnected or damaged one of the sensors while working on the turbo. MilesA
Also, about the banjo filter. What did you mean about the factory removing it? What year is the engine from and where did you look for the filter? The filter is on the engine block side of the oil line, not on the turbo itself. MilesA
Hey, SarahBeth, what happened anyway, did you find anything. You know, you guys have a habit of posting questions and then vanishing without a trace. A month goes by and we find everything is running fine now. MilesA
OP has vanished again, I guess. Oh, well, hope it works out.
