Jazz97
So i recently posted a post in the second gen forum, but i'm starting to believe i have a 1st gen. So on my registration it says its a 1994 Legacy L, it is a white wagon with a hood scoop so it's turboed. But when i google 1994 legacy wagon it doesn't look like my car. However when i search 1993 legacy wagon it shows the car I'm driving. The only explanation I have to this is that i've read they produced the 1st gens up until early 1994. If someone has a good explanation for me pleaseeee respond.
Smithcraft
You could just post a picture of it. But - If you have wide and short headlights with sort of an oval grill, then it's a second gen. If you have narrow and tall headlights with and angular grill, then it's a first gen. If it's a 94 it should be a first gen. If you look under the hood and see a turbo, then it's a first gen. I've never seen a second gen GT that actually had a turbo, just the scoop. If your ventilation buttons have words then it should be a first gen, if they have pictures with arrows, it should be a second gen. http://www.cars101.com/subaru_legacy_archive.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Legacy_%28first_generation%29 http://www.cars101.com/subaru_legacy_archive95_97.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Legacy_%28second_generation%29 The Asian market (ie JDM) get's the facelift and next body style a year earlier so that might be what's confusing you with pictures of two different cars for the same model year. SuperSub
If your car looks like this then it's a gen 1. http://i.imgur.com/z0mVBif.jpg
Whopper
Under the hood there is a plaque that should say something like fuji heavy lifting and look for body code if its BC, BJ, or BF its 1st gen. If your plaque dosent say fuji heavy lifting and is a 94 than it has no turbo and its a second gen. If it dose say fuji heavy lifting than it has a turbo and i think a closed deck so protect that engine with your life. I own a 94 sport made by fuji heavy lifting in japan.
