Twhit
Anyone buy the trunk mounted hooks for grocery bags? If so , any good? How about the trunk mounted cargo nets? Do they work well? That is all for now. [emoji848] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
ammcinnis
I have both the side and rear cargo nets in my Legacy. I seldom use the rear net, but I find the side nets really handy. Most of the time the rear net remains neatly stowed in its own pouch, always ready for immediate use if needed. citadel
I find the rear net useful putting bottled items in it. Stops things from rolling around like after shopping for wine at Costco!
hkshooter
I have the rear net, never use it. Haven't added the side nets, figure they'd wind up the same way.
andrew_l_s
I too find the side nets way more useful as they don't get in the way of trunk access for large items. Perfect for first aid kit, jump starter, etc. You can also stow things behind them which is handy. I only put the rear net up when needed, which is rare. upstater
I bought the Subaru Cargo Organizer years ago with my 2012 Impreza Sport (and also the side nets) (actually got them free, with some other things due to a pre-order accessory credit of $500 from Subaru). I almost never used the side nets, kept flashlight, first aid kit, etc in them, things I rarely used. I use that cargo organizer almost every day. it does not slide around and holds quite a lot (all three of my Subaru's have had the trunk rubberized tray, FWIW). https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Subaru-SOA567T100-Cargo-Organizer/dp/B0081KAW18 As a plus, you can switch it to your next Subaru. My Impreza got to keep those side nets when it was traded in.

Yoda_One
I have both. The side net are always in use and the near net is not used as often but it so great having it on those occasions when needed. I would add both, easy DIY projects and you can purchase them at a decent discount through eBay or Amazon. ammcinnis
I bought the Subaru Cargo Organizer years ago ... I use that cargo organizer almost every day. I bought a virtually identical "Trunk Organizer" from Harbor Freight for about $13. I too find it very useful. My wife has one in her Outback, as well. Mine was the overpriced Subaru version, however, because it was free due to my pre-order incentive, it was cheaper than your Harbor Freight version... andrew_l_s
I almost never used the side nets, kept flashlight, first aid kit, etc in them, things I rarely used. So in reality you used them every day cause stuff was in there every day;) That's why I like them, they keep stuff you don't need all the time out of the way but within reach. don24mac
i bought one of those Subaru branded Trunk Hooks on Amazon to see if it would work well. It does, and I was about to purchase a second when my vehicle started giving me serious problems that I'm trying to resolve through Subaru. (that's for a different thread) I'd say go for it concerning the grocery hooks in the trunk. I use the one every time I shop. They're solid and strong. I bought a generic cargo net and attached it to one side using some "S" hooks attached to the top side of the trunk. That works quite well, too. Saved a lot of $$$ over the Subaru branded nets. 'cept based upon my experience with them in the Impreza I didn't bother installing them in the WRX or my Legacy. I just didn't find them essential for how I use my car, and somehow still have easy access to those things I usually never use, but carry. My cargo organizer is used for groceries, some backup stuff I carry around, and even fits the box I put my used oil container in when I bring it in for recycling, so that it can't fall over and spill all over the trunk. It is in my trunk now, half full, half open, so it can be used whenever. I rarely fill my trunk, but in the event I need to I pull it out or empty and flatten it. Costs about the same as the side nets do, let OP decide which is a better value, my 2 cents are spent.
FrankieBX
I am coming from a Grand Cherokee I am thinking about getting the side nets as well for convenience and I hate how things roll around the trunk in sedans, just my 2 cents.
mwlegltd
just be aware how small the side nets are: fit one pair of shoes or bottle of wine/liquor each. However, you can use them to keep supplies like a small emergency in place beside/behind them.
