klrtovfr
Ive got a 07 2.5i sedan and its sagging so bad the rear tires are nearly rubbing on the inner fender. I also pull a 4x8 trailer with a 500lb motorcycle on it from time to time and its just not cutting it anymore. Should I just replace the strut with oem only or is there a better spring/strut combo available for pulling and getting rid of the sag? Would an outback wagon setup work on a 2.5i sedan? Holla
When I had installed my KYB Excel G's in the rear of my wagon I gained a good inch of height compared to the oem shocks I had with 125k. I reused the same oem springs. I was surprised how much lift I got just from swapping the shocks. I'm sure there's a stiffer setup you could go with but you may just want to try swapping the shocks first.
The 2Fiver
A lot of the aftermarket springs drop more height in the fronts which I guess "in theory" should even out the load more towards the front and better serve towing. Tough to say, it would be ideal to have stock cushiness when towing. ^interesting about the Excel G's though. That sounds like a promising solution for this. CapnJack
Depending on miles on your car, the shocks may be shot and causing your issue. These cars sag like crazy in the rear even with good shocks when hauling any kind of weight in the back seat and trunk and I don't understand why. I've had to put the saggy butt spacers on both my Legacys to try to keep them level. When I recently replaced both springs(one broke) and struts on my current Legacy and added a 3/8" saggy butt spacer, I gained an inch as well. The car sits level again. I regularly tow a 4x8 trailer as well with various weights above what's recommended.
kzr750r1
Used KYB GR2 both front and rear on the 06 OBXT at around 90K. Now at 170K they are still solid. Used the original springs. Followed the option to use the 2002.5-2004 version of the rear and it is a nice firm solid ride no sag. Reports were that the dampening of the 04 was better than the later versions. Front didn't matter.
klrtovfr
Thank you for the input. Is the 02.5-04 an option for me or is that only on the outback?
Rhitter
If you get the King KSRS-29 or Rallitek Overlord springs + new shocks I think that will help solve your issues with sag. Especially if you tow. both will raise the rear slightly (3/4"??) from stock though. My OBXT build
kzr750r1
Thank you for the input. Is the 02.5-04 an option for me or is that only on the outback? I'd have to bow out to others with GT suspension.
