OntarioGT
I gota replace the motor, blew cyl#4 turbos gone, cars got 258000kms I want to shop for an engine I can drop in before I consider rebuilding this one. Not really interested in going crazy with performance. Just want a quick fresh/freshish motor to replace this one. What motors bolt straight up? Not really interested in going crazy with performance. Just want a quick fresh/freshish motor to replace this one. What motors bolt straight up? I replaced the motor on my LGT a year and a half ago. I considered three options: -New EJ257, (~3000) installed by local independent shop, along with head work $8000 - refurbished EJ255 installed by dealer $~10,000 -new Rallispec short block, forged internals etc, $5000, plus install costs. For an extra $2000, I ordered in the Rallispec block rather than new EJ257. turbo and intercooler were also leaking, so replaced/upgraded both. Given the labour cost to install the motor, plus the worn intercooler and turbo I ruled out a used motor, and went with a block giving me a better upgrade path.
