gtonstilts
Just bought a 96 legacy 2.2 awd 4eat with 90k for $200 bucks. Car needs almost nothing, however the rack has a torn boot and steering is a bit hard (barely assists) I have an 05 2.5i rack that was on my obxt before i swapped for a spec b rack. My question is will the 05 rack fit the 96? It has the same 3.2 lock to lock....

gtonstilts
How would i check that without calling a dealership? The dealership near me is not generally knowledgable of interchangeability. Is there a web site i can use to check ?
RustyRuu
our website likes to hide this from people. it will show you part numbers and some pretty sweet technical drawings http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/subaru-oem-parts-catalog-online-exploded-views-opposed-forces-130411.html

wtdash
Hi, One gotcha: I'd bet where the the intermediate shaft connects to the 'knurled stub / gear' on the rack has different splines. May be all Legacy's are the same, but '98 Forester wouldn't connect to '02 WRX, as reference. GL, TD
