covertrussian
My front LCA bushings are probably due for a replacement, if I'm gonna spend money on new ones, thinking of just getting a caster set (since the non-caster AVO ones are same price). FSM says Outbacks have 5* of caster while Legacy's have 5.91-6*. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=234296&stc=1&d=1469218540 More caster the better right ? When I was first creating this thread, I figured PS pump might not appreciate more caster, but seeing that Legacy's have 6* I think there should be no issues going 5.5*. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
covertrussian
Did a dynamic camber gain graph for the 2012 Outback. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=239339&stc=1&d=1476667316 I think the obvious answer is yes increasing the caster by even 0.50* will make a pretty good increase in camber gain. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
TheMonaLisa
More is better with 7* being the limit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
fahr_side
Just note that more caster is more load on the power steering pump. I really recommend a PS fluid cooler if increasing caster. Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs. covertrussian
Very true, though it would only add 0.50* totaling 5.58*, 2.5i Legacy's have 5.91* of caster. I don't think 2.5i Outbacks have different power steering pumps then 2.5i Legacy's so should be no problem either way. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

Can you share a link to a power steering cooler kit? With Whiteline top hats and LCA bushings, I have 6.7* of caster. covertrussian
Any universal one should really do the trick. I bought a $30 one for my G20 years ago because stock one wouldn't fit with FMIC. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
fahr_side
I DIY'd mine. These should be pretty easy to adapt: https://www.flatironstuning.com/p-2638-sti-jdm-group-n-power-steering-cooler.aspx https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/aftermarket-fluid-coolers/mis-mmtc-u-mishimoto-transmission-or-power-steering-fluid-cooler-universal Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs.
