You have a 235/50/18 tire huh? It has and OD of 27.3" according to Tirerack.com. Do you have rubbing issues? I was thinking of going with a 245/45/18 tire. They have a OD of 26.7". Stock is 26.6"

No rubbing issues whatsoever as of yet. I've driven my car through some pretty deep dips, turned at full lock coming out of my weird angular driveway, and no rubbing. I'll update later, if it happens. Big 0's site recommends a 235/50/18 tire for the Outback, while Tire Rack recommends the 235/45/18.

There's a good chance that could happen shortly. Just smoked out the tail lights on saturday too. I removed and painted my rear badges with matte black paint last weekend. When I remounted them I decided to just leave on the "'subaru' and '2.5XT'" and not the "outback" badge.

I think you will be okay, but 225's might help out with rubbing issues. It's only 1mm difference offset wise, so the tires can make/break the deal. Also you'll probably have to roll the fenders. If you can dial in camber, that would help a lot as well.

I've been told that if I go to a 8x18 rim and mount a 245 width tire on them that I'll get tire rub on the fenders and will have to roll the fenders. True?

Also, the car will be approx. 1" lower than stock when these are mounted.

I wanted to get 18x8 Enkie and mount 245's. Planning to go with Tein Flex for coilovers. no offset. Using only stock calipers which shouldn't require offset.(Correct me here if I'm wrong.)

Well, all wheels have an offset. Its a property of the wheel, like size and bolt pattern.

With that setup and 245/35/18 tires and if the wheel's offset are around +45, you should be okay.

Check out the wheel fitment guide that Xenonk put together. Its very comprehensive and it really is a better place for your question.

Guys...quick question, someone in my area is selling 18x8 Superleggera's with 225/40/18's that he he has on his lowered 02' WRX. He knows the wheels are 5x100 but he does not know the offset. They fit perfectly on his WRX (no rubbing issues)...will these bolt up fine on my 06 LGT??
