DiZi713
Hey everyone, so I had bought an '07 Leggy GT about a month and a half ago and my clutch just went out on me yesterday. I figured since now that I need to replace it if anyone knows of any good aftermarket clutch/flywheel/pressure plate's? Car is completely stock (aside from a blacked out grille ) so looking for something stage 1 or 2 that's not overly expensive Thoughts?

Since I can't seem to get a definitive answer on this anywhere, despite my searching: do you know the breakdown of SMFW and DMFWs on the 4th gen LGT (spec.B included)? Not that it really matters for me at the moment, but my curiosity still isn't sated

Not that it really matters for me at the moment, but my curiosity still isn't sated 05-06 LGTs have a DMFW from the factory. 07-09 LGTs have a SMFW (same as 06+ WRX I believe). 07-09 spec.b's have a SMFW, either unique to the spec.b or same as STi--it varies and it seems that to some extend subaru installed whatever they had available. Lots of '07 spec.b's seem to have STi flywheels from what I have seen. 08/09 spec.b's seem to have the actual "spec.b" fly wheel. If you put a new clutch in an 07-09 spec.b, go with a new STi flywheel and clutch kit and you should be good to go. 2006 spec.b--hmmm, actually not sure on that one. I'm fairly new too all this stuff so bear with me; plus my mechanic said he doesn't know what the flywheel looks like, but it might be a little cracked. Ideally I'd like to replace all three just so my conscience is clear

The TSK3 kit is something that beefs things up a bit and protects the snout of the transmission in case you have a TOB go bad down the road. If it were me, I would do the same--new flywheel and clutch kit--but many get by with resurfacing a flywheel without issues and it saves a couple bucks. Yea I decided not to go with the lightweight one, I think I'm gonna go with the '06 WRX flywheel that weighs about 6 pounds lighter than the OEM Leggy flywheel. But I do alot of highway driving tho going to school (merrit parkway and windy new york roads for fun) so I was also thinking of getting the ACT Streetlite flywheel decisions decisions

The other leggy flywheel you're looking at must be the dual mass version for 05/06 application. DiZi713
Ahh ok, yea somewhere on this forum I read they were different, but completely forgot about the Dual Mass one Thanks everyone for their input, its been much appreciated! I did have some issue with the ecu not catching how fast the rpm drops when you put the clutch in with the lightweight flywheel causing the motor to stall as others have noted. I can't completely peg this on the flywheel though because I also have a lightweight crank pulley and it's generally accepted on here that the two together will cause that issue. However after about a month it stopped so the ecu may have re educated itself.
