Delicious Tuning Flex Fuel Kit

Recommended Posts

I doubt the automatic ECU inputs would work on our car since we don't have the DCCD which is usually what they use to change between maps and mixtures. It's also a lot more pricey than the Zeitronix kit which is around $400.

I didn't get a chance to read the whole article and FAQ so I could be talking out of my ass if they've overcome the ECU input challenge.

Well they list applications for 2004-2015 STi and 2002-2014 WRX, so it must not be using DCCD or SI Drive.

They don't have any instructions for the Cobb FlexFuel setup, but they have instructions for the non-Cobb version and it seems to plug into the rear O2 sensor somehow. Seems like an interesting way to interface with the ECU.

Delicious seems to be pretty tight-lipped about how all the black magic works, lol

I PM'd about the kit in September, and here is the response I got.

No support for the 5th gen LGT. To the two engineers who developed the product the 5th gen LGT does not exist. Too few sales of the cars to justify the R&D. Bill (the owner of Delicious Tuning and the man who created the kits) has also not authorized any other tuners to tune the kits as of yet. He will have to hand over the "keys" to the hardware to allow other tuners in. So, unless it is a BRZ/FRS he currently is not supporting remote tuning.

Thanks.

I've talked to delicious tuning over at SD a few months back. They can do it and I basically just need a bigger FP (currently running DW200), 1000cc inj, maybe EBCS, and that's it. Kit plus tune is about $1k and can be done same day with them supplying base map for me to limp over to their shop. But my mechanic says I'll definitely need new clutch and he's worried that my engine won't be able to hold that kind of boost (21-22psi) for a prolonged period of time before needing to upgrade head studs and other stuff. So for now, I'll just wait and see if other people does it lol. I heard COBB is coming out with a kit for it and it would be compatible with AP.

Got a response from EFI:

"Sorry, as far as I know the Delicious Tuning kit does not work with the '10+

LGT. There's a possibility they can make a kit for it later, but it's

doubtful as it's not a hugely popular base for modifications..."

That's not true. I bet there is a very high percentage of 10+ LGTs that are modified. The problem is that they didn't sell many. But the few they sold are all modified.:lol:

I'd be willing to bet EFI just looked at the Delicious Tuning website, didn't see an application for the 5th gen, and called off the search.

The kit DT has now should work with a 5th gen, at least from the hardware side. But it looks like DT would need to do the tuning

So if you get a fuel system setup for E85 you could switch between premium and e85 so long as you are using as much of either fuel as possible to fill the tank? All the hardware will work for either?

Umm... Yes. All hardware besides basics: DW300 fp, DW 1000cc inj (DT recommends DW's inj). I was thinking you might want EBCS since boost will be around 20-22psi. Probably need at least stage 2-3 clutch.

Any possibility of Cobb doing this. Probably too late.
