Q: Seatbelt cleaning

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to clean the seat belts? I have a tan interior and over the years the seat belts have become dirty. I'd like to see if there's a good way to clean them which will also not weaken the integrity of the belt itself. I'm not opposed to pulling them out of the car and soaking them in something. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'd recommend taking out the seat belts and spraying them down with [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Folex-Co-FSR32-Instant-Remover/dp/B000ILA3YY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435446662&sr=8-1&keywords=folex&pebp=1435446660877&perid=0A64JTVS6FPM2K51M7B0]Folex[/ame]. After is soaks for a few minutes wash it off with a wet cloth. I used this stuff to clean coffee and mold stains out of the canvas of a pop-up camper I just bought and it worked great!

Tuff Stuff aerosol foaming cleaner works great at removing stains-everything from food to grease and oil stains out of seats, carpeting, cloth, and I would bet it would work on the seat belts too.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Might give Folex a try.

I'd check with the manufacturer of the product and the belts. If your cleaner weakens the belt fabric there's potential for finding this at a most inconvenient time.
