Austin2.5i Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 Has anyone taken out their console yet? Also, do you think it would be a huge job to get out the carpet? I'm thinking of installing some "brown bread" by B-quiet to turn my $20K Legacy 2.5i into a super-quiet, pseudo luxury car (it already rides like one). Also, does anyone have experience with Sound Deadeners? Thanks so much.
inthedeck Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 I did a search...here's what is out there...thanks to the guy who took the effort to do this. http://www.legacysti.com/viewtopic.php?t=1674 Later, i.

I dunno about the 2.5i, but I found the 2.5 GT Limited to be very quiet - doing 50-65 on a highway in the rain, only gets a little loud when you get on it. If your interested in doing over your Legacy's interior - http://www.katzkin.com/SITE/HTML/index.html also: http://www.autoleathers.com/ I've never used them, but they seem like they got some cool interior options. - Mike
Austin2.5i Posted July 25, 2004 Author Posted July 25, 2004 Thanks, inthedeck, that thread is very helpful. I just am not sure if I can make myself tear apart that beautiful interior just yet....... Mike, as far as noise levels go, the Legacy is pretty darn quiet. It's quieter than most any car in it's price range, but it's not luxury car quiet. I live in Southern California, and the highways are really beat up down here, so more noise gets through to the cabin. I've found some nicely paved stretches down here that make the Legacy sound like a dream, but they're few and far between. Any one ever used Brown Bread or any one of B-quiet's products? Thanks.
Th3Franz Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 I have heard that Brown Bread is pretty much just as good as any of the other sound deadeners. It helps to heat it a little bit as you apply it for better adhesion. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
