1kotic1 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Hey there. I just have a couple questions i have a subaru legacy 2.5L H4 DOHC 16V TURBO and would like to know 1st what the performance difference is between getting a full exhaust sytem compared to a cat-back sytem? And 2nd whats the best aftermarket exhaust to get for this car? I live in california now but the car will be actually in tennesse. I'm already looking into a cold air intake and possibly a rechip or dyno or diablo tune? I would really like your opinions since i have never worked on a subaru before.
Mike07LGT Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 In my opinion you should search the forum before posting again and read up. Welcome and best of luck! 03 WRB WRX (RIP) 04 JBP STI (sold) 07 DGM Legacy GT (RIP) 12 OBP STI (DD)

A full exhaust includes a downpipe. Catback is a midpipe, y-pipe, and mufflers. Just a full exhaust is not enough. You will need a tune. If you do not tune the car, you risk overboost conditions and possible damage to engine due to the lack of a tune. And 2nd whats the best aftermarket exhaust to get for this car? Stock is pretty good. If you have to get a new exhaust, it will be up to your personal taste. I'm already looking into a cold air intake No need. The factory airbox is very efficient and is not a restriction until 350+ whp. rechip No need. On the 05-06 cars, a $15 VAG-com cable and an e-tune ($150ish) with RomRaider is all you need. dyno or diablo tune? Yes (dyno tune), but you can get a open source e-tune where you get a file from a tuner, flash it to the factory ECU, do some pulls, datalog and send to the tuner, and repeat until the tune is complete.
