ssbtech Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I'm trying to figure out how to remove this piece. I have it detached at the very front, but I'm not sure what type the rest of the clips are. I've tried sliding it forwards, backwards, inwards, outwards, pulled up, etc... I feel that any more force will snap something. Anyone know how to remove it? Thanks
ssbtech Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Helpful. Which way? Does it just lift up? I've put quite a bit of force on it to the point I'm starting to stress the plastic.
oaklandmiLGT Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I pulled mine straight up and broke the clip (it was in the winter when plastic is brittle). Maybe get one of those plastic trim removers and pry inch by inch down the edge of it.
Streetlegal Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Yea you really need to pull hard on them. I thought I was going to break mine I had to pul so hard.
ssbtech Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Yea you really need to pull hard on them. I thought I was going to break mine I had to pul so hard. So it just pulls directly up, no need to angle or twist it at all?
Underdog Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Yes pull straight up. They take a ridiculous amount of force. If you can get a wide flat trim tool in from the back (inside of the car) you can pry while you pull. Start on one end and pull as close to the clip as possible to avoid stressing the plastic as you mentioned. The Crimson Dynamo
ssbtech Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Perfect, thanks! I'll give it another go I love how the first step to removing the headliner is to remove the lower trim...
Streetlegal Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 So it just pulls directly up, no need to angle or twist it at all? Yea just pull hard. You might smack your head on the roof when it pops out FYI
