jonah_ow Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 So I am in a challenging situation. My 2005 LGT wagon blew the diffs in the stock 5 speed about 5k miles ago. I got a used JDM 5 speed from a 2005 2.0GT, and I had it installed at a dealer (big mistake). Now, I am getting strange noises from this transmission. When sitting in neutral with the clutch out, it makes a faint constant clicking sound. This sound will match the engine speed if I rev the car in neutral. Now when I depress the clutch the noise goes away and there is nothing other than engine when I rev it. I can also hear some strange quiet metal on metal noise when in 2nd gear. The only issue I have had with this transmission is a grind if I try to put it into reverse too quickly after pressing in the clutch. The grind occurs ONLY into reverse, and only if I attempt to put it into reverse too quickly after pressing the clutch. All in all this transmission is making too many noises for it's mileage, and having it installed at a dealer I do not know what they did or did not do. They may have reused the old TOB for all I know. And I do not know the gear oil that was put into this transmission. So any help from experts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

The don't tell customers anything
