Varano14 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 So I've head led switchbacks for awhile and have just been dealing with the hyperblink. Then I stumbled onto a set of pre wired relays or whatever there called on eBay and since they were like 5 bucks figured it was worth a shot. So I hooked one up tested it and what do you know it worked. However when I inserted it into the headlight led fell out into the headlight. So after tearing off the whole front end to retreave the led I plugged it back in and nothing.... Tried reversing the way the bulb was inserted still nothing. Even tried putting the stock bulb back in and nothing works. When I push the stalk down nothing happens so lights on dash or clicking or actual bulb flashing. Even the one in the other side that I haven't even touched yet doesn't work. So any ideas as to what I could have done. The fuse I'm the drivers side fuse box labelded turning seams fine. Is there another one that could have tripped. Any and all suggestions are appreciated Thanks!
Varano14 Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 Ordered a new flasher relay I'm fairly sure that has to be what it is since it's not even clicking. But if anyone has any thoughts on the matter I'm open to suggestions since now I can't really drive my car until this relay comes in.
Varano14 Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 New flasher relay is in... Still nothing help!!
Disgust Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 What I would start with is this: Narrow down your search to figure out if it's wiring, or hardware. I normally do this: I throw on the emergency flashers and make sure I'm getting all four corners to flash before I go on with it. If I get none, then I turn to fuse or wiring. If I get two to flash, i turn to wiring or bulb etc. Test your flasher relay with the E-flashers first and see if the side you haven't touched works or not. If it's not working, then you blew a fuse somewhere and gotta track it down. Remember that sometimes with these cars, you can blow a fuse that has nothing to do with what you were working on, so if you're getting no flash from e-flashers, go through with a flashlight and inspect all fuses.
ama0787 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Did you solve your problem currently happening to me leaning toward the stalk TIA, anthony
sleeper05gt Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Iv done this and know it works not huge fan of doing it this way but they sell these blue heat sink looking things that you wire on the + side of the led light so on switch backs you will need 4 of them, also you wire them pre bulb socket(so if you not to sure what I'm talking about its the +wire going into the og light socket)...thay will make the resistance that the car wants to see....BE VERY CAREFUL THEY DO GET VERY HOTT when in use ...hope this helps lmk.....
ama0787 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 sleeper i am sorry but that makes no sense to me and sounds like you are referring to led work not getting dead turn signal/hazard lights online. TIA, Anthony
sleeper05gt Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 YES sorry i was referring to led issues my bad for skim reading its a sunday thing..lol
magnusonsubie Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I blew a 10A fuse when I inserted my switchbacks backwards once. I would start looking at all those fuses. You're describing similar signs I had when mine went. 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B
