POWERPRO Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Anyone have any experience with this? Saw one in the for sale thread and it looks like a cheaper, stealthier and more easily reversible option than the double din. My stock stereo is starting to flicker and the volume goes crazy sometimes. So since I am planning on opening up the dash anyways to remedy the problem, I figured I would look into upgrading. I've been missing having some bass, but am a little hesitant seeing how many rattles the car already has. Go figure that this is the first car that I haven't torn apart and it's the first one to have electrical problems. Let me know your thoughts/opinions. This is the kit I am talking about. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fl-single-din-console-panel-single-din-radio-cubby-hole-239824.html
Andy_Mac Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Does yours have the mcintosh setup?, if so you're in for a hell of alot of work getting it working with a new headunit but it is possible. If its a standard one then its a walk in the park. 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
DonnyJagaru Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I think having two radios in the car will look goofy. Can you not just buy the replacement plate and be done with it? That's what I did, pictures on here somewhere. It looks and works perfectly fine. The color of the display can be adjusted to match the clock/info display of the dash and when you turn the lights on it matches the red backlighting too.
