lyndondrake Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Hi, I've got a MY05 3.0R B spec 5EAT wagon. Really like the car, was thinking about changing to a newer one but instead looking at doing a couple of upgrades. Things I don't like: 1. Shift lag from the auto. It takes forever after the car decides to shift, for the shift to actually happen. As well, if I'm on the motorway and decide to pass and hit the accelerator, the car will shift down one, then down again; if possible it would be nice if it shifted down two gears (though just getting the shifts quicker would help a lot). Is it possible just to get the TCU retuned, or do I need to do something mechanical to improve this? 2. The car sounds dull. In fact it's just too quiet. I've been looking at getting an XForce Cat Back exhaust which seems reasonably priced, and not so noisy it will annoy my wife. Any thoughts?
freaksavior Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 1) Search for hexmod valve body upgrade. 2) Search some more and look for Exhausts clips. Exhaust sounds are an opinion thing. There's a number of pre-mades exhausts. Borla sound good imo, Magnaflow sound decent, fujitsubo sound really nice etc. It's preference.
starionesir Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Valvebody upgrade will be the best place to start. Hexmods, IPT, etc. As stated exhaust is a personal preference. If its a daily driver I'd try and stick with a exhaust that has a resonator to help stop exhaust drone.
