Lafta Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I'm having my rotors replaced soon, and my mechanic needs to know the diameter of said rotors. I mentioned to him that the diameter of the spec b and gt were the same (which of course he knew). He replied back with.... "In searching for Legacy GT Spec B , it gives me two options due to 2008 being a cross over year for the brakes from what I can see. I will definitely need diameter measurements and to know if the rears are vented or solid disk to source and quote properly." The rears are vented, yes? What about the diameter measurements front and rear ?
Andy_Mac Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Front 316x30 vented Rear 290x18 vented Always thought spec b brakes were the same size from the start of the 4th gen right to the end so not sure what this 2008 crossover is. 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness

stuck686 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 buy your own rotors online dude, order the centrics off Partstrain.com they are liek $43 each
Lafta Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 ^^^thanks for the centric link. i was (still am) considering them. if i can can pick your guys brains concerning rotors, my mechanic said he wasn't a fan of centric. rather, he said....."Typically I like to use a high end Japanese Blank rotor that is completely coated and cryo treated. The rotors I typically use for blanks are made by ATE Japan and come with a one year unlimited mileage warranty against warping or cracking." any thoughts on this, please? ^^ i plan on hawk ceramic pads.
whitetiger Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 just use centrics. your mechanic sounds a little out of his element

Same brand as Stoptech. Cryo, drilled, slotted etc can warp just as easily depending how you drive.
