jul_chris Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 My turbo just blown on my 2006 LGT and I wanted to go either after market or a rebuilt turbo. My Subaru dealer quoted me 1700 for the turbo plus labor which came to 2100 and they said they would knock it down to 1900. I have found several rebuilt turbos from this site that I like. Just need a place to put it on. I would do it if I had the space, but I don't. So my question is anyone from Pittsburgh, PA out there that can help me find a good repair shop that takes aftermarket parts.
BoozeRS05 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Moore Performance would be my #1 in McKees Rocks. I've never actually been there, but excellent Subaru support and good guys. There's PRL motorsports, which is a good bit east of the city in Export. They'd charge 4hrs or about $400, I believe that's what they told me. One of my local preferred shops for larger items (turbo/trans/exhaust). Then there's TPG. They are even further east of the city in Blairsville. A lot of Subaru people are big on TPG (larger repairs and tuning/dyno). EB's Subaru journal - 2005 LegacyGT Wagon & 2014 Forester FB25 (2008 specB - RIP) IG@legacygtliving
Eliott Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 +1 for Moore performance. I'm a regular there and they've been great to me. Turbo subarus are their specialty. They know what they're doing and are all great guys. Talk to Ryan Moore, the owner, and tell him Eliott sent you.

May want to check that out first.
MrTris Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Has the engine oil been checked for metal? May want to check that out first. This. And, you can do a turbo by yourself, if you're so inclined -- will give you a good chance to become familiar with the car, too. Have you sent a PM to JmP6889928 about the Custom VF40?
CloudSeed777 Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 This. And, you can do a turbo by yourself, if you're so inclined -- will give you a good chance to become familiar with the car, too. Have you sent a PM to JmP6889928 about the Custom VF40? This. Forgot to mention JmP turbo action.
Code Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 +1 for Moore. If you're not doing it yourself you can trust them. "Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." - Bill Shakespeare - car modder
