Hey guys, I am new owner of a kinda high mileage GT (156XXX). I love the car, its clean and sounds/drives amazing. Before I purchased the car I took it to my mechanic and he seemed to have a lot of faith in it, not any serious leaks, looks well taken care of and maintained. still has the factory turbo and the owner had all kinds of service records for it at every 3000miles. My main question is just how do I make this car last forever lol I understand I'm looking at some upkeep, but I just want to do everything right and hope for the best. Also need to set a good maintenance schedule. Every bit of advise helps, Im here to learn.

Thanks guys

This is the car

2005 legacy GT 2.5 turbo is a bile of ****. For a daily driver that is. I bout one only 3 months ago with 150k on it. I work with the guy who was the only owner of it. He had records of maintenance and up keep. When I out it the whole turbo system was replaced with in the last 2 years. It was in beautiful shape. So I to figured it would be a good car. Well then I joined these forums and found out how unreliable the car really is. I must warn you, they are not reliable cars. There are very very few that have made it to 150k miles and even fewer make it to 200k. Ayways long story short I owned the car for a total of 4 months before I had to put over 3 thousand dollars of work into it. Pretty much everything the forums warn you about happened to the car like clock work. IF you buy this car consider it a toy or hobby car. Be ready to dump allot of money in to it. It is in no way a daily driver car.

Negative nancies abound with 4th gen cars. As an 11 year owner of a 2005 LGT, I have a bit of insight on the car. You'll hear the mantra "stay stock, stay happy", which really holds true as good consistent maintenance has seen cars in the 200k club on the original motor & turbo.

If you haven't saved off the pics & info from the CL ad, I'd do that. Some useful info there.
