ivonr Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 had a trans flush and a TCU relearn done at the dealer a month ago. noticed that my transmission shifts odd from 2nd-3rd again now. it isnt a "rough" shift, more of a "hesitant" shift from 2-3. driving slowly, when it is about to shift from 2nd to 3rd the revs drop slightly and the transmission seems to hesitate, then shift to 3rd. if i'm driving faster and it is shifting from 2nd-3rd above 3k rpm this problem in NOT present i flashed my car to cobb's stage 1 OTS map (to prevent the notorious lean condition) AFTER the first tcu relearn was done. flashed back to stock today (to prevent dealer from citing this as a possible cause) and had the tcu relearn done AGAIN today. they did it as a "goodwill" repair for free and even cited the correct TSB 11-90-08 in the invoice 3 questions: 1. does it take a while for the car to relearn the shift points or should i notice a difference immediately? got the car back after 45 minutes today, still shifting hesitantly from 2nd-3rd gear 2. will it hurt anything if i immediately flash back to stage 1 after my tcu relearn? 3. is my problem really a "shift shock" issue? or something else entirely ?

It may take time to re-learn all other shift points but the 2-3 shift shock should be gone. 2. will it hurt anything if i immediately flash back to stage 1 after my tcu relearn? -I'd also say no issue, others can chime in if aware of something. 3. is my problem really a "shift shock" issue? or something else entirely ? -These are known for the shift shock issue, so I'd guess its still that, but without driving car hard to tell.. Maybe try this.
ivonr Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 by shift shock we just mean a harsh shift, a noticable shock, from 2nd-3rd gear? again mine isnt a hard shift, it just hesitates and drops about 200rpm before it shifts from 2nd to 3rd.

It seems what you are indicating is the 08 shift shock, it's like a slight delay.
