Krisso8 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I bought 2010 legacy gt wheels for my 05 legacy. I didnt think i would be having issues with fitment, but I am. Its rubbing on my suspension... My suspension is stock. The wheel spec is 18 x 7.5 with 55 offset. tires are 225/45/18. Has anyone done a similar sized wheels on their car? did you use spacers and if you did, how wide was it? Ive done plenty of research and from what ive concluded, 7 mm spacer should suffice. I dont want to purchase a set before knowing if it would work tho. any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Krisso8 Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 I looked into that thread but the info I needed wasn't there. I've been trying to piece the knowledge I've learned from different readings, but I still want to make sure. The wheel and tires are rubbing on the struts. My suspension is stock, which is why I was surprised to hear that it rubbed
boxkita Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 there's always http://willtheyfit.com .use the stock dimensions and your current ones to see where the extra space is Build my car Boxkita Track days
Krisso8 Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 thanks, I looked into various fitment calculator websites (including that one) and that's where I concluded the 7 mm spacer that I might need. But with different fitment calculator websites, the results also varied. which makes me hesitant to purchase the spacer and might not work. I was hoping someone with almost the same measurements as my wheel specs would chime in and approve the 7 mm spacer so i wont waste my time and money.
boxkita Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Using a spacer is always a last choice option. Which tires are you using, as different tires have different "actual" section widths. The reason I asked where it was hitting on the struts and/or fenders, is there could be other solutions to your problem that don't exacerbate the wheel bearing issues more. Krisso8 Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Put that into consideration, but from reading an article somewhere, automakers usually have 4-7mm leeway for wheel bearing capacity.
