oppamen
I went to discount tire because my toms light keeps coming on. They told me I had to replace my wheel because the part where my tire and wheel touch are getting corroded. I saw it but I don't see any rust. Just black marks from tire. Your suggestion would help me. Can I get it cleaned off? They said they tried cleaning it as much.
bluesuby
I would think there has to be a hell of corrosion problem. I'd try sanding with a dremel and painting over the spot. Maybe they mounted a very cold inflexible tire? I've heard a nitrogen fill will stabilize pressure better than air.
starionesir
Did they show you the inside of the rim where the bead seats? I have seen many rims that had leaks because of moisture causing rust. Sometimes they can be sanded down and sometimes they can't. That is the big selling point of nitrogen is no moisture to cause corrosion to the rims or the tpms sensors.
outahere
Is this a steel wheel or an alloy wheel?
