You have a lot of upgrading to do. It's annoying enough to crack TH9 bases with maxed out TH9 troops. I can't imagine having to crack TH10 bases with TH8 level troops.

It's not that hard, but not to acquire 3 stars either. Besides, I still find TH8 bases to attack.

Yes, but not always you find a good base with a good loot to attack, at least in my case. At least I won a little gold

Finding TH 8 bases to raid when you're TH 10 is a losing proposition long-term because there's less available resources for you to steal. Since you're 2 town hall levels higher than your opponent, you're actually stealing 50% less resources then if you had simply been TH 8 yourself.

The loot multiplier is what is behind the loot "penalty". The amount of available loot = calculated loot x loot multiplier, and this calculation applies to all loot sources. Well, except for the Clan Castle actually - the loot penalty simply does not apply to what is looted from it. The loot multiplier is determined as follows:

 

Town Hall Levels - Loot Multiplier

Town Hall Level Difference - Percentage of Loot Available

Same or higher level - 100%

1 level lower - 80%

2 levels lower - 50%

3 levels lower - 25%

4 or more levels lower - 5%

 

That's why rushed bases are almost always at a disadvantage.

 

95% of my raids are against the same TH level as myself. I'll occasionally go 1 TH level down, but they better have full collectors and full storages otherwise it's not really worth my time or resources.

+1 the the only reason I would hit a TH8 would be if they are fat in elixir like late TH8s can get.

So, I've definitely scaled back on the time I spend on this game. But the new ship thing is actually interesting. Any idea if they've re-balanced the base war weight formula? I don't really war much right now anyway, so I might finally build x-bows regardless.
