2 vise grips and an old timing belt works for me everytime.

 

Nope, go'damn teeth broke before the bolt did using Vise grips and old belt method. AMS tools were ordered and $75 for new cam gear from dealership. What is it made out of? Fiberglass? composite?

Just saying, instead of paying for the tool, did you call the dealership and see what they would charge for breaking the torque on those bolt's ?

 

I'll bet it would be less then the cost of the tool.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

Add in cost of tow car to and from dealership?

Oh I was talking about the size of the car and carrying an engine with it

 

Sonic is currently carrying the upgraded toolchest for racecar, as no room in racecar trailer or garage.

 

Beginning to understand why my car projects are always drama-filled. The "I'll wing it" thing really creates mayhem & havoc. :spin:
