eabbe86
I have a 96 Legacy OB that started overheating. Gutted thermostat as a temporary fix. Just put new thermostat in and the temp gauge sky rocketed. I removed it and put gutted one back on and temp gauge still went up. Radiator is full and no sign of over flow with either thermostat and rad cap cool to the touch even though gauge reads high. Any ideas on what is going on? monkeyposeur
You can get a hydrocarbon test kit to rule out a head gasket issue if the above burping procedure doesn't help. Sometimes you have to burp it a few times. Also only use a Subaru OEM thermostat, not an aftermarket.
