Subaru Liberty RS

Recommended Posts

Thought I would show some pictures I took today of my 93' Subaru Liberty RS, Australian version, AUDM. G'day.

I've had it for a couple of weeks now, so all the credit has to go to the previous owner for all the hard work gone into it. I don't have any skills on the spanners ( I prefer the driving part) and this RS has been done the way I would have done it if I knew how. All the work has been done over the last 3 or so years.

Anyway, some of the specs:

- New paint with colour coded body kit

- New tint, 20%

- WRX alloys

- New Yokohama C-Drive tyres

- WRX 4 pot front brakes / standard rear

- New cross drilled / slotted front & rear rotors

- EBC green pads

- New shocks (have to check what brand) & king springs ( not sure on which ones)

- Whiteline front and rear sway bars

- 3 inch stainless exhaust from the turbo to the rear diff, then 2 1/2 inch steel section to rear stainless X-force muffler with twin tips

- Engine wise it is basically stock, has boost controller (15psi) and a chip???

- New Exedy h/d clutch

- WRX front and rear seats (was a factory leather, sunroof and ABS brakes model)

- Momo steering wheel & gear knob (will change these to something nicer)

- some kind of boost gauge

Future plans are minimal at this stage. I plan on doing the occasional lap dash/hill climb, and cruising.

Beautiful car!!! I just picked up a 1992 Legacy Turbo SS (Sport Sedan) so I love looking at these 1st Gen cars and getting up to speed with all the other owners and builds.

If you can find the part number on the King Springs, I would be interested, it sits nice.

And if you could find me a set of those clear side markers (behind the front wheel) and ship them to me, I would be happy to pay whatever they cost and shipping, and I would be forever grateful.

Also, where can I get that body kit?

GTEASER, as I said, I bought the car as is, so I have no idea where he got the clear side indicators. I'll have to check on the springs, I think they are just super lows.

The body kit on the car is standard fitment Australian Liberty RS's, except for the front lip. I know these are hard to find because the person I bought it off had been trying find one for ages.

GNGBNG, I can get the King springs here in the US, and after some more research, I think I have my front lip and side skirts figured out, but those clear side markers are super cool. If you can help me with those, I would really appreciate it. :D

I'll see what I can find out.

I have managed to trade a car at work with a "GReddy Intelligent Informeter Touch" installed to it.

Is this compatible with the RS Liberty's?

Had a play with it fitted in the donor vehicle, great little toy.

Alright, so I have done my fist lap dash with the Liberty and had an absolute blast.

First off, I installed a STi Carbon strut brace I picked up and a fire extinguisher. I then had my two minions clean up a spare set of Liberty wheels I had, so I wouldn't trash my street tyres.

Took it to the track and passed scrutineering.

I improved my lap times with each attempt, so I now have a base line for what the car, and myself can do. I think the next best mod will be a set of sticky race tyres.

I found out how he got the clear side markers, he made them from a diffuser panel used in a ceiling light
