Made a couple vids driving around Bear Mountain, since this week was really the last breath of decent weather. Switching to winter wheels/tires by next week :(

It drives smooth, makes decent power, and doesn't knock. I'm sure I'm leaving a bit on the table, in terms of mid-range power and spool, but the car is at almost 175k, after all.

When I get the itch for more power, I'll look at a custom tune, but only after a new turbo, header/up, and fuel. Leaning towards an 8CM 1.5XTR, KB HH, and ID 1000s, which should be a good balance of power and responsiveness with the TMIC setup. I'd like to tune for pump and e85, since there is a nearby Shell that sells it, and the car will have enough injector... but not going there unless I have a back-up motor at the ready

So I contradicted myself on my OTS tune rant from last month... I'm now running a Tuning Alliance custom tune, and am very happy with the results! The car is making good power, but the drivablity, responsiveness, and refinement are worlds better. It feels like a different car. Can't recommend Mike enough.

After the tune, rolled over a minor milestone on the way home:

Side view?

Couple months late, but here ya go :p

Can't believe I was able to detail the car outside on in the middle of December in shorts and a tee-shirt... Polished up my tips too:

Well done! Car looks great! Nice results from the modded IWG and custom tune as well.

The upgraded actuator was actually only on the car for long enough to test it, but definitely made a difference. I'll buy one if we can nail down fitment a little better (it fits perfect on a 52, but the angle of the 46's port is different). There is another model that Mike thinks will offer the right range of adjustment for the 46, so we'll see! It would be $100 well spent.

Here's the boost, WG and MAF curves with my current (stock) actuator, versus the upgraded actuator. Love that spool :)

Moar car videos! :p

I use this stretch of road in Mex'anada when datalogging or just as a benchmark test for each mod that I do; there's a good view of the road ahead, and a slight, consistent incline. Hopefully this spring I'll have an "after" video for comparison.

And a view from the bumper cam (AKA painter's tape + cell phone)... no smoke or blow-by that I can see. Lots of noise though.
