LatentWagen's 2008 Subaru Legacy GT spec B

Glad to hear these babies can last! I'm looking to pick up one with 140K+ miles on it very soon. The mileage has me worried but it is just a number after all. Service history and condition/care for the vehicle seems to have much more weight in terms of life of a car.

Will be checking back in this thread to see what other goodies you add!

The two factors are usage and service history. My car was not abused, and it was serviced properly, and in a timely manner. Even so, the head gaskets were on their way out before I got the car, in all likelihood. I was lucky enough to see the eventual failure

Don't get me wrong, they are great cars, and punch way above their weight. However, as with any Subaru running the turbo 2.5, it's wise to keep a rebuild fund at the ready.

... and here's a pic 'o the day.

Yep, shoveling snow sucks... but sometimes the wind does most of the job for you :)

And a shot from a few weeks back for contrast's sake:

Installed the ProcessWest TMIC. Nice piece of gear, and much easier to install than the OEM unit. Holds boost, too :)

I may shorten or reroute a few vac hoses, but it's not so bad for an hour's work.

Yeah 215/45/18 is crazy big too  and actually I was off. The tire that would maintain the correct over all diameter is 225/50/17

I run 225/45r17s in the winter, 235/45r18s in the summer--spec.b drivetrain. I'm going to upsize my winters to 235/45r17s I think.

Need to swap out my ABS module with one from a spec.b to make things closer to "right".

"Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>>

Not currently in stock :(

So you're saying you like shifting more in 1-4?

If I didn't like shifting, I'd drive an autotragic! I also waste gas on two throttle blips for every downshift, so, um, yea :)

I might go 235/45 next winter, but would want to upsize to a by 8" wheel. I gots no love for the squirms. I'm eally liking the WinterSport 4D, I had my co-worker giggling as we went sideways around a circular exit ramp. Nice tire!
