UPDATE AS OF DECEMBER 12, 2014 - Shift Stop Version2 (Post December 2014 Build Date)

After some fitment issues with only the Legacy STi short throw shifter, Perrin has updated the original Shift Stop Design (Version 1) to work with all stock 2010-2014 Legacy, 2015+ WRX and 2014+ Forester shifters, as well as the Legacy STI STS and WRX STI STS.

Like g5GT said, we have updated the shifter stop to work with the STI short shifter on the Legacy, so it no longer pulls up the reverse lockout. We just did this, so they are available from us, but may not be from vendors yet, thanks!

Hey Chris! So the early version, lets call it V1, works with the stock WRX, Legacy and Forester shifters as well as the WRX STS, and the new versions, V2, will work with all?

Yep the new version will work with them all! All the kits will be the new version from now on.

I ordered one of these today to confirm fitment with my 2015 WRX STS that is currently installed. I should have it by the weekend and I will install it ASAP.

Since I no longer have the OEM Legacy shifter installed, I will physically confirm fitment but short of swapping back to stock, I will have no way of confirming functional improvements.

Special thanks to Chris at Perrin!!!!

Install pics. I did this at lunch time today, it took about 20-25 minutes and would have been easier access to all the bolts if I had removed the panel on the left side of the console. I was looking at my pics and now I can see that the stop isn't even. I am going to go back in and even up the stop, it is a little too far left in the rear.

Review with the 2015 WRX STS and Perrin Bushing

Wow!!!! Just WoW!!! No slop at all. The shifter now only moves very slightly, approx. 1/8" or less, while in each gear, all of them 1 thru 6.

Many kudos to Perrin for coming up with this and the shifter bushing! Coupled with the 2015 WRX STS, the shifter is 1000% better in all respects than the stock GT slushy floppy thing. And while the STS is not really a shorter throw, coupled with the Perrin mods, the shifter is stiff, each gate is firm and positive, and the overall driver experience is that of a much higher end sporty, connected vehicle. Looking forward to driving her home tonight!!

I feel like you should be receiving commissions from Perrin and Subaru for your willingness to investigate fitment of various parts and then for the detailed write-ups.

As always, thanks!

Just wait until you confirm fitment and Perrin sees item sales increase 300% before you ask. ;)

Ordered.

I have the OEM LGT shifter.

I will measure horizontal play after the install, but here are my numbers currently, which are quite different from what Perrin claims for the 2015 WRX shifter:

1/2 Gate: 23 mm (about the same)

3/4 Gate: 23 mm (much worse)

5/6 Gate: 8 mm (a bit better)

The 1/2 Gate on my shifter springs towards the right fairly aggressively, so in my opinion, its not "sloppy" at all. The 3/4 Gate is though, and I have doubts whether this part will correct that anyway.

We'll see...

I have never had Streetrays even respond to any of my reasonable offers.

They have this set up with auto accept/decline. I was immediately declined until I hit $53. They already got me tracking info too. I guess mileage varies based in item.

I did the washers portion of this only. $0.60 from Lowes for m6 washers. I can absolutely feel the difference, it's not massive, but noticeably tighter in all gears.

Do. Not. Overtighten. These things feel like they'd strip out with very little effort.
