etarm
Just got a pair of cross-bars from my Subaru dealer. Not sure if these are still the Mont Blanc's that I've been reading about online, or if they're using a different supplier. Anyways, installation should be simple, but it seems like the bottom tab on the clamping mechanism is too long to fit on my 2007 Legacy wagon, which has the flush rails. Has anyone else run into this problem? If I take the bottom tab off, it fits just fine, but obviously, it won't install this way. I though maybe the dealer had made a mistake, since the receipt said "outback crossbar", so I double checked the part numbers (E361SAG010 and E361SAG020) online at subaruparts.com, and they're the same ones listed for my wagon. Here's a photo of the problem: http://www.directcon.net/edarmstrong/Subaru_rack.JPG That's as far as the clamp will fit on because of the length of the bottom tab. Seems like I could probably cut the tab shorter, and it would fit, but I don't really want to do that, because I obviously can't return it if it doesn't work. etarm
Anybody? Gonna take these back on Tuesday unless I can figure out a solution. TIA!
Scotty
Those are for the Outback, not the Legacy wagons.
etarm
Thanks Scotty -- yep, that's what they told me when I brought them back. They don't carry crossbars for the Legacy wagon anymore. I've since purchased the Yakima Railgrab, which fit just fine.
