Merc6 Build Thread

I plan to wire the STi I/C sprayer to the pull switch I threw in there to cover of the donor car's drilled out hole for the Sub Pinch Knob. I see there was a float for low fluid, was that a light in the dash for the STi?

Found a link for instal.

How hard is it to replace this seal by the Back door/window?

Leave the valve covers alone, you can't see them any way's.

I painted em blue along with the oil pan but he's right, you really can't see em

LOL I talked about painting the turbo heat shield in another thread...

Did mine gold, and, you can see SOME of it. If you're gonna do it, might as well do them now.

I'm also not entirely sure, but, I think with a die grinder and a polish wheel, you can get 'em shined up with a brushed look -- might be kinda cool. The finish would probably last longer than paint.

I'm probably not even gonna attempt it. I barely go to car shows so it would be like me getting a $500 tattoo on my ass no one would see.

Debating on if the seal is easy to swap or just pay a body shop to do. Gotta go back for paint touch up from when they did my trunk anyways.

Check with your dealer to make sure this is what you need.

Just had a quick "F*** IT" moment. How hard is it to sell a 05 LGT Shell and all the parts listed above? I don't think I'll ever finish this build and not willing to deal with a 3 year part out. Paid for and Virginia title in hand.

Up in the air on Turbo and fueling.

*JmP VF 46

*JmP VF 52

Injectors and pump on stock side feed looking at this.

*DW65c pump

*740cc side-feed injectors

Intentions of valve body upgrade at some point. Wish I would have had this done when I was stationed in NJ for like 8 years. The car was only running for like the 1st 2 years of that time anyways.

VF 52 search may end soon and I'll just ship off the 46 to be rebuilt. I randomly tossed this idea around while I wait...

Lamin-X tinted tails came in yesterday, when weather breaks I will install them.

Looked under and I got some more work to do. Exhaust rusting and it's not even driving anywhere.

I painted a lot of the parts on my build and you can see a lot of them. The valve covers are visible in the car and the paint will help keep them from corroding as quickly, not to mention it personalizes your car a bit.

I'm going to try and paint the exhaust tomorrow. Today I almost did Lamin-X but it was too cold out at that time of the morning.

I ended up test fitting the inlet and oil line just to get an idea for what color I want the housing.

I totally see why they say use the stock banjo as the supplied one in the kit has 2 large holes in it on both sides.

I took it to church yesterday and we all said a prayer over it. With lots of Duck tape I have faith it will make it in one piece.
