Deadly Subaru Impreza crash. Prayers needed.

Looks like seven other youth were charged in this. They had left a car show and were street racing. Not sure if this driver was also racing, but he hasn't been charged. Inconclusive whether this vehicle was even involved in the street racing. May have been an innocent in all of this, which is often the case, which severely injured both the driver and his passenger, with the passenger dying as a result of his injuries. Shame really.

article says charges were pending against the driver of the car that crashed - no idea if they came through or not, but it sounds like there's a good chance he was racing, too...

over on NASIOC some folks knew him in the NESIC section and said they had helped him install an EJ207 with supporting mods in his car - certainly doesn't mean he was racing, but odds are he was coming from the same car show...

You can try and teach you kids as much as you want, but they aren't stupid. If you drive the way you don't want them too, they learn by example and they are in the back taking it all in.

Lucky we just have NA 2.5 6spd, so our kids will learn to drive stick without a fast car.

The charges stem from a crash on Route 99 on July 9. Police said a group of people left a car show in North Smithfield and headed for Route 99 with the intention of racing.

Investigators said speeds exceeded 120 mph. A car driven by 22-year-old Aarron Harmon of Bellingham, Massachusetts, crashed. A passenger in that car, Simon Ratsamy, 21, of Woonsocket, was killed.

Police said four people were charged with street racing: Brian Simono, 19, of Woonsocket; Joshua Bettencourt, 25, of Uxbridge, Massachusetts; Corey Smiley, 21, of North Smithfield; and Austin Machado, 19, of North Smithfield.

State police charged three people with reckless driving: Nicholas J. Budnick, 27, of Blackstone, Massachusetts; Zachary J. Fortier, 20, of Woonsocket; and Ramiro Segura, 20, of Woonsocket.

All seven were arraigned in front of a justice of the peace and released on personal recognizance. They were ordered to appear in court for re-arraignment Jan. 6

120+mph, I feel for his family and my sympathies are for those whom were impacted by this kid's death... But he made his bed and unfortunately when he got into it, it cost him his life....

Similar situation just happened with an Acura 2007 TL driver bifurcated car on a tree, killed 3 and they have it on surveillance camera 2 cars going at a high rate of speed on a residential street
