chrose1201
So what's another problem...... In order to pass inspection this time the car was flagged for a drivers side tie rod. That was about a month ago. Now the ABS sensor light is coming on. Considering the proximity of the sensor to the tie rod if it is in fact the sensor that is on the same side as the replaced tie rod, what do you think the chances are of it going bad or being dirty due to the replacement of the tie rod. Further research shows that I have to read what codes the ABS is sending off which is not the same as the obd reader. Is this a sensor that maybe Autozone has? Thanks as always, you guys keep the car running!
subieadam
If autozone doesnt have it, I have one I just pulled off my car. I am converting it to non ABS...
chrose1201
Subieadam made me realize the error of my post. What I meant to ask aside from whether or not the shop may have messed up the ABS sensor, was whether or not AZ might have that particular code reader since from what I understand it's not the same as the regular OBD-11 reader. chrose1201
This is what I was talking about: http://www.justanswer.com/subaru/2dbsa-abs-light-stays-engine-running-1998-legacy-gt-codes.html
subieadam
Ahh ok I see now, you have to find that connector and jump the terminal, and that will cause the ABS light to flash a certain amount of times, and in a certain pattern, kinda like an older OBD1 car. And depending on the flash count that will tell you what trouble code it is.
