Any news about the hood ?

Oh, yeah that issue was resolved.

Neither the body shop nor I are admitting fault so the General Manager credited me a grand on my next paycheck to cover the cost of it.

They did strip down the back side of the hood in a very shitty fashion to show me the paint underneath. It looked similar in color but I wasnt convinced. It did plant a seed of doubt in me that I may have been wrong.

The 1% of me that wonders if I maybe made a mistake in thinking the steel hood was aluminum the whole time but I don't know. The first thing I said when I originally received the hood was "OMG this thing is so freaking light!" So I doubt them painting it made if weigh an extra 20lbs.

In short, I have a painted steel hood now that I am just going to use till I get a B4 RSK front clip and do a whole front end conversion.

Will you install a FMI? A bug shield might not help a TMI to work properly... As per the tuner advice, I removed mine because of that.

Keeping it TMIC. I am going to conduct an experiment to see how much the bug deflector affects the air over the hood. Basically going to tape a bunch of strands of yarn on the hood to see if the low pressure caused by deflecting the air will cause the yarn to rise.If the yarn stays flat or is directed backwards then the bug shield wont be interfering and I will probably keep it .The roads here have a ton of debris.

I'm anxious to see the results

couple crappy iphone pics taken tonight without the bug shield. I'll work on getting some better photos up as soon my car is level when I put the new springs on.

Finally got around to having the guys over at Suba Performance put my BH5 STi Pink springs on to level the car out a little. The previous S401 sedan springs were a little saggy in the bum.

You can really see the height difference on the rear springs

Decided to get the car on a dyno for some quick numbers. Kind of a weird looking graph (slight dip as it was on power) but I am content with the figures it put down on 91 pump gas at altitude.

273hp and 304ft-lbs VF48 @ 18psi with stock fuel

Suba had a few extra WRX parts laying around so we stiffened up the front end of the car a little bit. Switched to a 22mm WRX front sway bar as the stock legacy one was not fitting the crossmember we put in. Also used a front under brace to give the car a bit more of a direct feel.
