Talking about modifying cut-off shields... if you spray paint them, you can get color reflection off the bowl giving your car 'colored eyes' (If you're not careful, your bi-x shield may 'stick' and light output is not affected for typical use)

Also, TRS offers "Value" series MH1 projectors. Works just as well as the top-notch MH1 6.0's but for $50/pair.... Can't really beat that.

I like it. Not sure about the green and red, but the projectors are nice.

this is what I bought but it was $35/pair last week. Still a very good price. I even asked them for the mounting hardware (brackets) specifically for the legacy and they sold it to me for $30 extra. You just need to ask CS to place it in your cart. Waiting for the package to arrive :p

Right here is EVERYTHING you need. No mixing parts needed, and it's bixenon.

Tried chatting with the guys at TRS today, and I THINK he try to say that the 9006 harness will fit my existing headlight plugs, but I couldn't get him to say it in so many words, and it's not 100% obvious. So, just checking: other than opening up the headlights - which I didn't want to do, but might - nothing else needs to be modified?

The harness should have an H7 (correct me if I'm wrong) switched input and a 9006 output to ballasts.

If you want the bi-xenon (hi-beam) functionality, you will have to splice the mh1 pigtails into the 9005 hi-beam connector on the car.

I read up in this I thinks it's safe to go with the TRS H1 mini stage III.. how bad is the install. I get nervous buying "universal" parts..

Err, why not get the Subaru Legacy kit?

You can also call TRS and ask if you can purchase just the legacy fitted metal brackets foe the H1 to make your life much simpler. I ordered them about 2 years ago they charged me $30 for the pair.

I don't know why I didn't think of that. That is great advice, thank you!

From what i read the rx330 spreads better? Im just going to keep my osrams for now. It does get the job done. I considered doing quick retro cuz its dark in the desert and im getting old and harder to see at night.

The customer service rep at TRS told me the other day to just try HID in stock housing. I wasnt expecting that answer especially after I said i have no issues taking apart the headlamps.

Email them and see what they recommend?

Is it always necessary to change the type of bulb when you do a retrofit? I'm considering doing a retrofit later on at some point and I have an H7 HID kit I'm not using right now. Everything seems to be projectors for H1 bulbs?

So are the rx330 or the h1s better?

Probably the RX, but the H1 will shit all over the standard halogen because it's been designed for HID bulb. H1 mini is quite a small projector so generally easier to fit. RX330 should fit in the Gen 5 housing. Ask yourself whether you want single beam or bi-xenon (I'd go with bi-xenon). I'd just get the kit TRS offers and be done with it.

I haven't seen a H7 based HID projector, so generally yes.

Go with RX350! much easier to mount, output is amazing. RX330 needs a lot of tuning to get good results (Moving shield down 1mm, curve shield and TSX-R clear lens.) The size of the projector a bit big and it's hard to mount the projector. I have like 15 RX330 sitting in my storage right now that I don't wanna use it.
