pleaidestar Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I seem to have a curious fuel injector set up in my 1990 legacy 5mt..I have had this car apart and been buying and cleaning all my parts awaiting other parts gaskets etc...well I took my I/m apart fuel rails out a couple weeks ago to thouroughly clean and port the manifold when I noticed that my injectors are way different from the front ports to the rear. The gray top injectors in the rear ports have a normal looking extended nozzle while the front black top injectors have no nozzle at all and are recessed quite a bit into the manifold. The difference is typical on each side, gray injectors towards the firewall black injectors toward the cam gears. The car ran ok when I bought it besides a few oil leaks and blown headgaskets, so is this normal? I haven't gone to look at any in the salvages or never worked on any others of this generation.
monkeyposeur Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Huh, that's weird. All my injectors are exactly the same but It's not a na. I can look at my buddies first gen Sunday and see what her's looks like. I can't think of a good reason to have two types on injectors.
pleaidestar Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 Me either man, all my others are the same too. They are not broken and look manufactured that way, no numbers or info on the black ones either. Been digging around and found a picture of the stubby looking ones but just no identification to them and they are an absolute f***er to remove they were even hard to turn in the cup.
pleaidestar Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 Well this turned up in legacycentral: http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/s ... ectors.jpg..can't believe that actually happened, lol wonder how two injectors got misplaced.
